What has come to pass for “Aikido history” today is a sham. It seems that all one needs to be considered a historian or a researcher of the art is the mere ability to speak Modern Japanese. After that, one can go on to practice numerous historiographical fallacies. All of this goes unquestion because the fake-historian, a person who knows what is almost next to nothing, is speaking to an audience who knows nothing. As the lack of experience in reconciling the subject/object dichotomy has led to a the extreme rarity we have today in the physical manifestations of true Kokyu and true Aiki, this new historiography, this fake historiography, will surely lead Modern Aikidoka even further astray, perhaps taking us all to a point of no return., to a place where the art is lost for forever.
