Path Marked by Fear

Deshi:  Sensei, my path is blocked by many fears.  There is the fear of commitment, the fear of being mentored, the fear of not being right, the fear of being too weak, the fear of being exposed, the fear of failing, the fear of injury, the fear of seeing that I am less than I want to be.  On and on, my path is marked by fear.

Sensei:  Then your path to Fearlessness is marked clearly for you.  Does that make you more afraid or more courageous?

Deshi:  It makes me more afraid.  What you have said offers me no comfort.

Sensei:  Then your path is not only marked, it is calling you by name.  With such direction and orientation, with a path so marked by the clarity of what is in need of reconciliation, you are luckier than most.
