Sensei:  The practice of etiquette and courtesy is the practice of caring for others.

Deshi:  If we are discourteous, does that mean that we do not care for others?

Sensei:  Worse, it shows that one cannot care for others – that care and concern are beyond one’s capacity.  For what man or woman will hold true in their ward of caring for others come what may when he or she cannot even muster up a simple “please” or a simple “thank you” when all is calm and still?
